Class Poem

Poetic elements offer an opporunity to be molded by the creator. Using the basic definitions of each poetic element the author is able to express interests, beliefs, feelings, and many other ideas. Here is our chance to express ourselves as a class. We are going to create a class poem. Each student is responsible for one stanza of the poem. The requirements for your stanza is to include at least one poetic element, you do not have to produce a rhyme scheme. However, you much include at least four lines. Accompanying your stanza will be a short response describing the poetic element choosen and the connection made to the previous stanza. Once every student has contributed we will pulish our class poem! I will begin the poem with the first stanza. Be creative and show your personality!

The rain comes like a waterfall
soaking the Earth as if on command
It won't be long before relief comes to call
to save the day and fix this land
I have used simile by comparing the rain to a waterfall.
Good luck!
